New models - Xpeng - G6XPeng G6 charges into OzUpdated XPeng G6 priced, offering four grades, 800V architecture, and seven-year warranty8 Jul 2026 By MATT BROGAN CHINESE electric vehicle importer XPeng has opened Australian reservations for its updated G6 electric coupe-SUV, confirming a four-variant line-up priced from $51,800 plus on-road costs.
Due in local showrooms this month (July), the revised small segment SUV brings sharper exterior styling, a broader choice of variants, upgraded cabin technology, and 800-volt electrical architecture with ultra-fast charging capability across the range.
XPeng says the new G6 can charge from 10-80 per cent in as little as 12 minutes (under test conditions), with peak DC charging power of up to 451kW available on the Long Range variant.
The local range opens with the rear-drive Standard Range, priced from $51,800 + ORC and offering up to 480km of WLTP range.
The rear-drive Long Range follows at $56,800 + ORC with up to 525km WLTP range, while the all-wheel drive Performance lists from $63,800 + ORC and offers up to 510km WLTP range.
A new AWD Performance Black Edition tops the range at $66,800 + ORC, sharing the same battery, charging, and performance specification as the regular AWD Performance, but adding exclusive black paint, black 20-inch wheels, smoked badging and camera housings, smoked bumper light-strip accents, and black brake callipers.
Standard and available equipment includes a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, over-the-air update capability, dual wireless phone charging, and an 18-speaker XOpera audio system.
Higher-grade versions are available with Nappa leather-appointed trim, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, and a broad suite of XPilot Assist driver assistance features.
Safety and assistance technologies listed for Australian-specification vehicles include adaptive cruise control, lane centring, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, rear collision warning, door-open warning, traffic sign recognition and a surround-view camera system with transparent chassis view.
XPeng Australian and New Zealand head of marketing Damian Royce said the revised model was an important step for the brand locally.
“The new G6 is an important step for XPeng in Australia,” he said.
“It brings sharper design, faster charging, advanced technology, and a stronger model line-up to customers looking for a premium electric SUV that feels genuinely next generation.”
Eligible XPeng vehicles sold in Australia from 1 June 2026 are covered by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty for private owners, or seven years/160,000km for commercial use.
The traction battery, battery management system, drive motor, and intelligent power unit are covered for eight years/160,000km, while paint is covered for five years/unlimited kilometres and anti-corrosion protection for seven years/unlimited kilometres.
Service intervals are set at 12 months or 20,000km, whichever comes first.
The XPeng G6 competes within the Small SUV over $45K segment where it rivals the likes of the Kia EV3 (from $47,600 + ORC), Mini Countryman E (from $64,990 + ORC), Nissan Ariya (from $55,840 + ORC), Renault Megane E-Tech (from $54,990 + ORC), Volvo EX30 (from $59,990 + ORC), and Zeekr X (from $48,900 d/a).
XPeng does not supply sales data to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) or the Electric Vehicle Council (EVC) meaning there are no accurate details of the G6’s local sales performance.
