New models - Volvo - S60Volvo S60 and XC60 Black Edition announcedBlack Edition variants join Volvo S60 sedan, XC60 SUV ranges in limited numbers from April26 Mar 2024 By MATT BROGAN VOLVO Car Australia is launching Black Edition variants of its S60 sedan and XC60 SUV ranges from April.
Featuring an exclusive high-gloss Onyx Black exterior, grille, and badging, the models will be available only in Ultimate T8 plug-in hybrid format – and in limited quantities.
Volvo says the Black Edition variants are further enhanced by black window framing and distinctive double spoke high-gloss back 21-inch alloy wheels on XC60 models, and 19-inch alloy wheels on the S60.
The interior of the duo is complemented by accompanying black theming, both cars offering combined black Nappa leather and leatherette textile upholstery and ventilated front seats. Further, each interior is paired with contrasting metal mesh aluminium garnishing, a crystal gear shift knob by Orrefors, and a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel with Google built in.
These additions join standard features including a panoramic sunroof, Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system, heated front seats and steering wheel, graphical head-up display, air suspension with Four-C Active Chassis (XC60), adaptive cruise control, pilot assist, 360-degree camera system, park assist, and a host of driver information technologies.
Both the S60 and XC60 Black Edition are powered by the same four-cylinder turbocharged engine and electric motor combination offered in their respective derivative models. That means 233kW/400Nm petrol and 107kW/309Nm electric motive power to achieve a 0-100km/h time of 4.5 seconds in the S60 and 4.8 seconds in the XC60.
Fuel economy is listed at 1.4 litres per 100km and 1.6 litres per 100km respectively for the duo, with CO2 emissions of 32 grams per kilometre and 39 grams per kilometre. Volvo lists a braked towing capacity of 2000kg for the S60 sedan and 2250kg for the XC60 SUV.
“The Black Edition of our XC60 and S60 models embody Volvo’s Scandinavian luxury with a distinctive design,” said Volvo Cars Australia managing director Stephen Connor.
“With their sleek, high-gloss paint work, distinctive alloy wheels, and sophisticated all black interior, these limited editions exude a unique persona – these vehicles stand out from the crowd.”
The Volvo S60 and XC60 Black Edition go on sale from early April.
