New models - Volkswagen - Tiguan - 162TSIVW offers $2000 cashback on Tiguan R-LineEOFY deal on Volkswagen Tiguan 162TSI R-Line comes with $2000 cashback until June 3018 Jun 2024 By MATT BROGAN VOLKSWAGEN has announced a $2000 cashback offer for its Tiguan 162TSI R-Line variants, available until June 30.
The factory cashback deal sees $2000 refunded from the sticker price of the five-seat SUV which is priced from $60,590 plus on-road costs.
Cashback is limited to the five-seat Tiguan 162TSI R-Line; last month VW cut the price of its seven-seat Tiguan Allspace range to align with the five-seat Tiguan – making the Allspace 162TSI R-Line $2500 less expensive than previously.
“This one of the few instances in the current Tiguan five seater’s life cycle that we have had sufficient supply of the top variant, which, when available has of itself made up 50 per cent of Tiguan sales,” explained Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles director Michal Szaniecki.
“We’re seeing that our customers continue to gravitate toward our higher end, fully specified variants, perceiving not only the desirability of these, but their value too. Hence the recent decision to offer a fully equipped Golf GTI at $59,990 drive-away.
“Tiguan R-Line remains very much the SUV equivalent to that gold standard ‘hot
hatchback’.”
The $2000 cashback offer offsets several available options for the Tiguan R-Line, including the panoramic sunroof ($2100), premium paint ($1100), metallic paint ($900), and the Sound and Vision package ($2750) which adds a 360-degree camera system, head-up display, and Harman Kardon premium sound.
GoAuto understands there are approximately 1500 Tiguan 162TSI R-Lines now available for purchase in Australia, with a similar number of Allspace versions also en route plus strong availability of other Tiguan and Tiguan Allspace variants across the local VW dealer network.
The Tiguan R-Line is powered by a 162kW/350Nm version of the EA888 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, driven through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and 4Motion all-wheel-drive.
Both models will soon be superseded, the Tiguan by a new, third-generation Tiguan, due here in approximately 12 months’ time, and the Tiguan Allspace by the all-new Tayron.
