That figure sees the Model 3 Performance available for $2500 less than its predecessor, while at the same time offering more power – a claimed 373kW plus – and quicker 0-100km/h acceleration time, now 3.1 seconds (-0.2 seconds). Top speed rises to 262km/h (+1km/h).
Four driving modes are offered – Chill, Sport, Insane and Track – while driving range is listed at 528km on the WLTP cycle (-19km).
The Dual Motor Model 3 Performance also scores three-mode adaptive suspension for the first time, the technology joining hollow damper piston rods, a multi-sectioned stabiliser bar, ultra-high-strength steel springs, firmer top mounts, and performance brakes with red-painted callipers.
Twenty-inch alloy wheels in a Warp design include plastic covers to improve aerodynamic performance are wider than before and provide improved traction. The wheels are shod with Pirelli P Zero 4 rubber.
The mechanical upgrades are joined by more aggressive styling and a freshened interior décor, familiar to that of regular MY24 Model 3 variants. Performance badging now appears on the boot lid and on front-seat inlays. A carbon-fibre rear lip spoiler is carried over.
Up front, the model sports a new-look front bumper cover with side air curtains and a large central grille. Tesla says the model is five per cent more efficient from an aerodynamic standpoint when compared with the outgoing model.
Other changes include slimmer LED Headlights, new C-shaped tail-lights, a re-sculpted bonnet, and T-E-S-L-A boot lid badging.
The updated Tesla Model 3 Performance is now available to order.
