New models - Skoda - FabiaSkoda Fabia Select here soon from $31,990 d/aAugust arrival for five-door Skoda Fabia Select, priced from under $32k drive-away21 May 2024 By MATT BROGAN SKODA is introducing a new variant to its Fabia light hatch range, the Select five-door available from August priced at $31,990 drive-away.
Skoda will introduce Select grade variants across its model range, including the Kamiq in July, and Scala and Karoq from August as a “signpost for value and high specification”.
The variant maintains the 380-litre boot, generous cabin accommodation, style and visual appointments of other grades, and is distinguished by 16-inch alloy wheels, LED head- and tail-lighting, front fog lights, front and rear parking sensors, and power folding wing mirrors as standard.
Other equipment highlights see the Skoda Fabia Select offered with an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, convenience key (keyless entry and start), auto headlights and wipers, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and a leather-trimmed sports steering wheel.
Infotainment duties fall to an 8.25-inch touchscreen array hosting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, and dual USB-C ports, and more.
Standard safety equipment includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, front and rear manoeuvre braking, lane assist, side assist, rear cross-traffic alert, cruise control, driver fatigue detection, and six airbags.
The Skoda Fabia Select continues to be motivated by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 85kW or power and 200Nm of torque, driving the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The variant is available with Skoda’s Guaranteed Future Value offer through Skoda Choice from $81 per week (at 6.99 per cent, per annum with 20 per cent deposit, a 60-month term, and 15,000km driving limit).
“Skoda customers appreciate that when they buy a vehicle from us in a particular segment, they’re often getting more space and equipment than competitor offerings,” said Skoda Australia head of product and marketing Kieran Merrigan.
“The Fabia continues with the enormous boot and generous legroom that surpasses some vehicles from the next class up, while the Select maintains the little Skoda touches that others reserve for flagship models.
The Fabia is the third best-selling car in the Light passenger car segment under $30K. Year-to-date sales figures from the FCAI show Skoda has sold 145 examples of the Fabia, placing it behind the Mini hatch (607) and Volkswagen Polo (571).
The remainder of the category is filled out by the Hyundai i20 (111), Audi A1 (98), and Citroen C3.
