Priced at $1290 on top of the price of the standard model which retails for $29,490 plus on-road costs, the Lifestyle Pack adds the R-Link audio and navigation system with 7.0-inch touchscreen and digital radio, leather-wrapped steering wheel and rear ventilation outlets for second-row passengers. On the outside buyers get a redesigned colour-coded front bumper, painted rear bumper, gloss black door mirrors and extra tinted glass. Furthermore, all Kangoos built after June 2016 now come with driver and front passenger side airbags and rear parking sensors. Rear side windows are a dealer fit option, which will set buyers back an additional $290. The five-seat Kangoo Maxi Crew LWB is powered by a 1.5-litre common-rail four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that develops 81kW/240Nm, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Renault LCV model line manager Lyndon Healey said the Lifestyle Pack would help the Kangoo bridge the gap between work van and family vehicle. “The Kangoo Lifestyle Pack gives customers an added level of comfort and style for a working vehicle that can also double as weekend family transport,” he said. “Thanks to the Kangoo being based on the platform of the Scenic people-mover, the Kangoo drives like a comfortable passenger car, and with the Lifestyle Pack addition to the Maxi Crew, businesses large and small have access to a very versatile workhorse that is 100 per cent claimable as a business expense for ABN holders. “Even when configured to carry five adults there is still good load space behind the rear seats, and with the optional rear side windows fitted, the van looks and feels like a family car. In fact, the Kangoo Maxi Crew Lifestyle could earn its keep as a highly efficient taxi, premium airport shuttle or multi-role courier vehicle.” Renault has sold 849 Kangoos to the end of September this year, a 3.4 per cent drop on the 879 sold in the same period in 2015. Despite the slight dip its 2016 figure is still well ahead of rivals including the Citroen Berlingo (234), and Fiat Doblo (98) but trails the Volkswagen Caddy (1283).
