Polestar 4 gets no-cost dynamic boost

Revised MY27 range sharpens driving experience while cutting carbon footprint, orders now open

24 Jun 2026

POLESTAR has announced Australian pricing and delivery timing for its updated midsize Polestar 4 coupe-SUV available to order now from an unchanged $78,500 plus on-road costs for the entry level Rear motor, and $86,350 + ORC (-$2000) for the Dual motor.

Deliveries are set to begin across July and August, with the Polestar 4 continuing to vie against the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (from $76,200 + ORC), Tesla Model Y (from $58,990 + ORC), and the Volkswagen ID.5 (from $62,990 + ORC).

Among changes, the MY27 model scores upgraded driving dynamics via chassis revisions targeting improved ride comfort and steering precision accompanied by further reductions to the vehicle’s environmental footprint.

Suspension settings are recalibrated featuring revised springs and anti-roll bars, new high-capacity passive dampers, and polyurethane rebound stops replacing the previous internal rebound springs.

Polestar says the changes improve body control and steering accuracy while balancing agility with ride comfort in all driving conditions.

The update extends to a new Comfort pack that joins the MY27 options list adding a heated steering wheel, power-operated steering column, easy entry and exit functions, and 12-way electrically adjustable seats without stepping up to the more expensive Plus pack.

The Plus pack has been repriced to $6500 (down $1500) and now includes a 1320-watt harman/kardon premium audio system, head-up display, Pixel LED headlights, illuminated front logo, power rear seats, and tri-zone climate control.

Meanwhile, the previous Pro pack has been deleted and 22kW AC charging becomes a standalone option rather than being bundled with the Plus pack.

Additional luxury can be specified with a Nappa leather upgrade sourced from Bridge of Weir, adding ventilated massage seats, headrest speakers, and premium trim materials.

Dual motor buyers can also select the $7200 Performance pack, which brings 22-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, Polestar Engineered chassis tuning, and signature Swedish gold accents.

Polestar chief executive Michael Lohscheller said the latest updates make the brand’s fastest SUV more compelling than ever.

“The upgraded Polestar 4 coupé is better than ever, offering a more refined ride with enhanced driving pleasure and stronger sustainability credentials,” he said.

“Overall, the Polestar 4 coupé delivers an even more compelling package without compromise.”

The all-wheel-drive Dual motor remains the quickest SUV in the Polestar line-up, sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

At the same time, the company says it continues to lower the model’s lifecycle emissions.

Australian-delivered Dual motor variants now carry a “cradle-to-gate” carbon footprint of 20.3 tonnes of CO2-equivalent, down 1.1 tonnes compared with earlier models. Rear-motor versions have an even lower figure of 19.4 tonnes, making the Polestar 4 the lowest-emission model currently offered by the brand.

Polestar says the model hierarchy has been simplified to adopt a clearer naming strategy consisting of Rear motor, Dual motor, and Dual motor with Performance pack variants.

Visual differentiation between models is subtle, with black seatbelts and rotary controls on Rear motor variants, black with Swedish gold highlights on Dual motor versions, and full Swedish gold detailing reserved for Performance pack models.

The latest Polestar 4 revisions underscore the manufacturer’s continuing focus on delivering performance and sustainability exemplified in the model’s sharper dynamics and lower emissions.

Australian Polestar sales for the year-to-date stand at 948, up 13.7 per cent on the same time last year. The Polestar 4 accounts for an impressive 73.9 per cent of the importer’s total sales volume locally, with 701 unit sales YTD. Sales of the Polestar 4 are up 39.6 per cent on May 2026.
