New models - Mini - Hatch - SidewalkMalt-o-milk MiniNew premium model expands Mini Cabrio range12 Jun 2007 By TERRY MARTIN BMW Australia has released a Sidewalk version of its 2+2 Mini Cabrio, taking the mile-long colour and trim combinations to new heights with malt-brown leather trim (with fluted seat facings) and contrasting silver piping, high-gloss dash inserts and Sidewalk-branded scuff plates. The malt leather accents are also used on the armrests and the two-tone multi-function sport steering wheel and gearlever. A cabin lights package and "chrome line" interior are included with the Sidewalk, while the exterior treatment includes a special-order "White Silver" paint scheme (else silver, black or British racing green) and 17-inch light alloy wheels in silver and anthracite. Wing mirror colour is matched to the exterior paintwork, and a Sidewalk badge is stuck on the front guards. Standard features include ASC+T traction electronics, front foglights, sports seats, a "Cockpit Chrono Pack", automatic air-conditioning, trip computer, storage pack and gunmetal grey floor mats. The Cooper S Sidewalk also has satellite navigation and Xenon headlights. Pricing starts from $42,100 for the Cooper Sidewalk and $51,100 for the Cooper S version, both of which are based on the previous-generation hatchbacks. "Mini is already unique in its customisation options for cabrio and hard-top models, but the Sidewalk not only combines some of the most attractive options, but delivers them in an exclusive paintwork and wheel package," said Mini national manager Justin Hocevar.
