MG 4 pricing drops by almost 25pc

MG MOTOR has once again sharpened its pricing pencil, this time on the popular MG 4 range with a focus on the base grade 51 Excite, now available from $30,990 drive-away.

It puts $4000 clear air between the MG 4 51 Excite and the next most affordable BEV in Australia, MG’s ZS EV at $34,990 drive-away – followed by GWM’s Ora base model standard range small hatch at $35,990 drive-away.

The MG4 51 Excite was previously listed at $39,990 drive-away meaning the latest schedule, available for a limited time until October 21 on MY23 and MY24 stock, is at a saving of $9000 – or nearly 25 per cent.

Adding impetus to the offer, MG Motor Australia has factory bonuses on all other MG 4 models, subsidising all MY23 examples to the tune of $8000 off the previous drive-away price and $5000 off MY24 examples, again only until October 31.

With a five-star ANCAP rating, the subsidised MG 4 Excite brings electric vehicle pricing closer to some ICE-powered models, with MG itself offering among of the sharpest new car prices on the Aussie market.

MG Motor Australia is billing the MG 4 51 Excite as “the EV for everyone”, an assertion difficult to argue with. The model is well equipped for the asking price with technology-, safety-, and comfort-oriented features, and is a useful city car given its limited range.

“We truly believe the MG 4 is the EV for everyone and now with these offers, including the MG 4 Excite 51 from $30,990 plus factory bonus offers across all other trims we have an MG 4 for every buyer,” said MG Motor Australia chief commercial officer Giles Belcher.

“The offer became available from September 20 and runs until to October 31 only and ensures all buyers who had been thinking of making the switch to an EV now can thanks to the lower entry point.

“We’re excited to get customers into our multi-award-winning car that’s been designed and built from the ground up backed by a 10-year warranty and five-star ANCAP rating.”

Mr Belcher added that the value for money delivered in the latest offers will help Aussies weather the rising cost of living and bring peace of mind to those that make the leap to EV.

He said that people who may have been considering an EV but potentially held off due to the cost now can now make the move with this limited time offer that gives “everyone” the opportunity to own an MG 4.

MG only last month committed to a 10-year/250,000-kilometre warranty on its entire range, which, in the real world means the average owner who keeps a car for around six- to eight years is fully covered during the ownership period with the added benefit of being able to transfer remaining warranty to the next owner.

This, says MG, ensures peace of mind for one or more owners over the span of a decade.

“MG has been leading the charge with electric for everyone since the launch of the ZS EV - the first sub $50k EV in Australia when it arrived a few years ago,” added Mr Belcher.

MG also offers a capped-price service program which locks in service costs under the Precise Price Servicing program, for the first seven years of maintenance through authorised dealers.
