New models - Mercedes-Benz - CLEMercedes-Benz CLE Coupe pricedTwo-variant CLE Coupe range joins Cabriolet locally, priced from $102,8157 Aug 2024 By MATT BROGAN THE Mercedes-Benz CLE-Class Coupe has arrived in local showrooms this week priced from $102,815 plus on-road costs.
It joins the recently announced CLE-Class Cabriolet (from $135,900 + ORC) in offering the best of two-door C- and E-Class models combined into a singular tasteful package.
The CLE-Class Coupe is available in ‘200’ and ‘300’ grades, the latter from $123,815 + ORC, and includes as standard Mercedes-Benz’s AMG Line appearance package, Digital Light Package, and Night Package.
An optional Plus Package ($4900) adds advanced driving assistance, ventilated front seats, memory parking assistant, air-balance package, and 360-degree vehicle protection.
Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 11.9-inch infotainment array with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, adaptive LED headlights, augmented reality sat nav, Burmester audio system, Artico faux leather upholstery, head-up display, heated front seats, LED ambient cabin lighting, lowered (-15mm) sport suspension, and a wireless device charging pad.
The CLE 300 adds genuine leather upholstery.
Mercedes-Benz CLE-Class Coupe range is yet to be tested by EuroNCAP, but includes a comprehensive range of standard safety technology, such as adaptive cruise control, AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistant, surround-view camera, and traffic sign recognition.
Both CLE-Class Coupe grades are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with the CLE 200 outputting 150kW and 320Nm for a claimed 0-100km/h of 7.4 seconds and the CLE 300 190kW and 400Nm for a 6.2-second triple digital pass.
Each grade is paired as standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the former with rear-wheel drive and the latter 4Matic all-wheel drive.
Mild-hybrid assistance arrives courtesy of a 48-volt starter-generator offering 17kW and 205Nm in each variant. The MHEV system aids in trimming fuel consumption to just 7.2 litres per 100km in the CLE 200 Coupe and 7.4L/100km in the CLE 300
Both grades require premium unleaded petrol.
The CLE-Class Coupe is closer in size to the outgoing E-Class and offers comparable interior and cargo accommodation, 420 litres according to the specifications.
