Created to celebrate the two brand's shared history, the Pirelli Edition is based on the Aventador LP 700-4 and features a host of added upgrades including a unique exterior colour scheme to differentiate it from its 'standard' sibling. The two-tone exterior is available with either a matte or gloss black roof, while the body is painted in the opposing finish, obtainable in a host of contrasting colours including white, silver, yellow and red. The black coloured accents also extend to the front pillars, rearview mirrors, engine hood, and front, side and rear air intakes, while a red stripe highlight runs along the roofline and also covers the side mirrors and outer air intakes, accentuated by unique Pirelli logos. The gloss black, staggered 20- and 21-inch wheels are – like all past Lamborghini models – wrapped in Pirelli tyres, in this particular case P Zeroes finished with an eye-catching red sidewall to match the stripped bodywork. This is the same tyre design shared with the most expensive car in the world last year, according to Forbes, the limited edition Lamborghini Veneno, of which only four were built costing $US4.5 million each. The red stripe motif continues inside the cabin, running along the roof and seats, with red embroidered Lamborghini and Pirelli logos adorning the latter. Each bespoke Lamborghini also gets a special Pirelli plaque, placed on the front dashboard, to denote its exclusivity. Standard features on the Pirelli Edition include a transparent engine hood, carbon finished engine compartment and specially colour-matched brake callipers, all of which are options on the regular Aventador LP 700-4. The Pirelli Edition, available in both coupe and roadster bodies, is powered by the same 6.5-litre mid-mounted V12, generating a massive 515kW of power and 690Nm of torque, able to shoot the Raging Bull to a top speed of 350km/h. Power is sent to all four corners via a special lightweight single-clutch seven-speed self-shifter, resulting in a zero to 100km/h sprint of only 2.9 seconds, faster than the V12-powered Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. The Pirelli edition costs $788,200 before on-road costs for the coupe and $821,700 for the roadster, which represents a premium of $26,700 over the regular versions. Customer feedback toward the new variant has been positive, according to a Lamborghini spokesperson, who told GoAuto “There's been a lot of interest, particularly at our showroom launch last week.”
