New models - Kia - EV3Kia EV3 priced for AustraliaSmall but with mighty 604km range, the electric Kia EV3 is priced from $47,600 +ORC12 Mar 2025 By MATT BROGAN KIA Australia has locked in pricing for its all-electric EV3 SUV ahead of the model’s arrival into dealerships later this month.
Available from $47,600 plus on-road costs, and topping out at $63,950 +ORC for the flagship GT-Line, the EV3 is built upon a 400-volt version of the Hyundai/Kia E-GMP platform offering both 58.3kWh and 81.4kWh lithium-ion battery packs across three front-wheel driven grades.
As elsewhere in the Kia EV range, the EV3 will be offered in Air, Earth, and GT-Line trim grades, the Air with a choice between Standard Range and Long Range battery systems, and Earth and GT-Line grades as a Long Range proposition only.
The price-leading EV3 Air will offer a driving range of up to 436km (WLTP), says Kia, while the Long Range version will travel up to 604km (WLTP) before requiring a recharge. Heavier, more feature-laden Earth and GT-Line variants offer a 563km (WLTP) driving range.
All grades are powered by a front-mounted 150kW and 283Nm electric motor.
The EV3’s driving range is further optimised by the inclusions of Kia’s new iPedal 3.0 adjustable regenerative braking system which can “adjust the level of regenerative braking according to your preference to maximise efficiency”.
One-pedal braking is also featured, the system also operating when the vehicle is in reverse.
As elsewhere in the Kia range we find familial Kia Star Map and Tiger Face styling elements, with the GT-Line variant further distinguished by stronger opposing diagonal elements and a larger, black lower grille.
This theme is carried along the profile of the GT-Line variant and into the rear, combining with “unique front and rear lighting elements for a comprehensively unique look”.
Kia says the EV3’s aerodynamic profile shows “flowing geometric shapes, dynamic loop lines and surfacing paired with flush front and hidden rear door handles and corresponding trim-specific alloy wheel designs”. Wheel diameters measure 17 inches on Air variants, and 19 inches on Earth and GT-Line grades.
The EV3’s rear design correlates with the front via further Star Map lighting, with the black window frames of the sides flowing through the C-pillar to the rear window.
Moving inside, the “home like” cabin of the EV3 sports minimalistic details and soft touch points complemented by large touchscreen displays and physical buttons for frequently used functions.
All EV3 grades boast a 12.3-inch instrument panel, 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and 5.3-inch climate control monitor, all supported by Kia’s latest GUI (Graphical User Interface).
Across-the-range comfort and convenience features further include Kia Connect smartphone pairing, over-the-air software updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless device charging, a vehicle-to-load (V2L) power supply with connector kit, shift-by-wire gear selector, and on Earth and GT-Line grades, a powered tailgate.
Features exclusive to the top-of-the-range EV3 GT-Line include a head-up display, wide sunroof with safety function, and eight-speaker harman/kardon premium sound system.
Kia notes a comprehensive list of active and passive safety technology for the EV3, including the latest semi-autonomous driving technology and a centre side airbag.
Further, the model is said the leverage the packaging benefits of the E-GMP platform to “optimise interior space”, benefitting leg-, head-, and shoulder-room. Cargo space is likewise generous, listed at 460 litres (VDA) in the rear and 25 litres (VDA) up front.
Eight paint colour options are offered across the EV3 line-up with three distinct two-tone interior colourways spread across the trimlines.
Interior and upholstery options include grade-dependent cloth and artificial leather.
Air variants feature Subtle Grey cloth upholstery with a contrasting blue console tray, the mid-tier Earth variant offering a choice between Subtle Grey and Light Warm Grey artificial leather with blue or tangerine console trays respectively, while the flagship GT-Line sports Medium Grey artificial leather with a grey console tray.
