The Indian-owned car-maker has announced pricing more than six months out from its local launch, which could encourage interested buyers to put down money for a deposit and ensure they are among the first in the country to take delivery of the sleek high-riding wagon. There are four powertrains on offer – two diesel and two petrol – and up to five specification grades, depending on the engine choice, with prices topping out at $120,700 for the petrol-powered First Edition. All versions of the F-Pace come standard with all-wheel-drive, and the entry level powertrain is a 2.0-litre 132kW/430Nm four-cylinder turbo-diesel – the same Ingenium unit found in the XE sedan with which the F-Pace shares much of its mechanicals – offered in $74,340 Prestige and $80,090 R-Sport spec. In this guise, the F-Pace can dash from 0-100km/h in 8.7 seconds and consumes 5.3 litres of fuel per 100km on the combined cycle. A more powerful 3.0-litre six-cylinder oil-burner delivering 220kW/700Nm can complete the 0-100km/h sprint in 6.2s and consumes 6.0L/100km. This is available in Prestige ($84,590), R-Sport ($90,350), Portfolio ($91,350) and sporty S ($99,940) grades. This powertrain is also used in the $117,210 First Edition, which is available for the first year of F-Pace production. Petrol engines consist of a 250kW/450Nm 3.0-litre six-cylinder supercharged unit from the base F-Type, which does 0-100km/h in 5.8s and consumes 8.9L/100km and is offfered in Prestige ($84,030), R-Sport ($89,790) and Portfolio ($90,800) guise. The F-Pace S ($103,420) and petrol-powered First Edition ($120,700) use the same 280kW/450Nm 3.0-litre supercharged six-pot from the F-Type S and offer up a 5.5-second 0-100km/h time and fuel use of 8.9L/100km. In terms of dimensions, the F-Pace sits somewhere between mid-size SUV offerings such as the Audi Q5, BMW X3/X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC and their larger Q7, X5 and GLE stablemates. Pricing also sits in between rivals of different sizes including the Audi Q5 ($63,210-$91,700) and BMW X5 ($86,200-$149,900), but is not far away from Porsche's mid-size Macan ($88,000-$125,800). In Prestige guise, the F-Pace standard features list includes a powered tail-gate, bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and auto levelling, leather seats, 10x10 -way electric front seats with memory, 40/20/40 split-fold rear seats, analogue dials with 5.0-inch full colour TFT display, 11-speaker Meridian sound system, InControl Touch navigation with 8.0-inch touchscreen, keyless start and 19-inch silver alloy wheels. At this level, standard safety gear includes a reversing camera, front and rear parking aids, tyre pressure monitoring, lane-departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, torque vectoring by braking and the All Surface Progress Control system that acts as a low-speed cruise control helping drivers pull away on slippery surfaces. In addition to Prestige, the R-Sport gains different 19-inch wheels, a wrapped instrument panel with stitching, perforated leather seats with contrasting stitching, gloss black window surrounds, special R-Sport-themes front and rear bumpers, metal tread plate, door claddings and multi-function steering wheel, as well as side power vents and the Configurable Dynamics system that adjusts throttle and steering response and gear shifts. Portfolio variants add different alloy wheels, Windsor leather door and seat trim, interior mood lighting, gloss ebony veneer and embossed front headrests. The more performance-focussed S adds 20-inch alloy wheels, Adaptive Dynamics, red brake callipers, unique leather and suede-cloth seats, satin chrome gearshift paddles, suede-cloth headliner and S exterior styling flourishes. For the First Edition buyers get 22-inch alloys, panoramic roof, roof rails, electrically reclining seats, special carpet mats, illuminated tread plates storage rails in the cargo area, InControl Touch Pro with a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen and 60GB solid state hard drive and a 12.3-inch high-definition virtual instrument display.
