New models - HondaHonda adds value to its top sellersHR-V, CR-V, Civic sedan and Jazz get Honda's limited edition treatmentGalleryClick to see larger images 8 Sep 2015 UPDATED: 17/09/2015HONDA has added extra specification to its four best-selling models, with limited edition versions of the HR-V, CR-V, Civic sedan and Jazz in Australian dealerships now. The Jazz Limited Edition is based on the entry level VTi matched with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and is priced from $18,290, which is a $1300 premium over the regular model, but Honda says it represents $1600 in extra value. The additional kit includes a tailgate spoiler, 15-inch alloy wheels, metallic door sill garnish, sports pedals, Limited Edition badging, an extended warranty to five years or 140,000km and five years of roadside assistance. Based on the mid-range VTi-S, Honda's Limited Edition Civic sedan carries a $24,990 price tag – a $1700 lift – which according to the Japanese car-maker represents $3100 in extra value. The extras on the Civic are mainly cosmetic and include Modulo front and rear under-spoiler, rear wing spoiler, side skirting, the Limited Edition badging and metallic/pearlescent paint. In HR-V crossover guise the Limited Edition is also based on the VTi-S with the price rising from $27,990 to $31,490. This model gains leather appointed seats, heated front seats, special bumpers, rear parking sensors, side steps, metallic/pearlescent paint and Limited Edition badging. Finally the CR-V SUV offers $3100 of extra value, and is available from $30,490, which is a $700 jump over the VTi variant on which it is based. Additions include front fog-lights, front and rear parking sensors, dusk-sensing headlights, rain-sensing wipers, side steps, the LaneWatch side camera system, 18-inch alloy wheels and the Limited Edition badges. Honda Australia director Stephen Collins encouraged buyers to head to their nearest Honda showroom to check out the extra specification on the Limited Edition models. “We are excited to bring these four Limited Edition models to market,” he said. “With added specification, it’s a great time for customers to get into their local Honda dealer to take advantage of these great offers.” Honda is enjoying a sales boost this year, with its overall tally to the end of August sitting at 26,859, a 28.5 per cent lift compared with the same period in 2014. Most of that growth is down to two key models, the resurgent Jazz light car, which is up by 78.8 per cent year-on-year to 6604 sales, and the all-new HR-V crossover, which has quickly become Honda's top seller. Since its launch in mid-February, Honda has sold 7297 HR-Vs which places it ahead of key rivals including the Mazda CX-3 (7130), Nissan Qashqai (7109), Subaru XV (5030) and Volkswagen's Tiguan (4639). Only the Mitsubishi ASX (7878) and the Hyundai ix35 (12,628) are ahead of it in the sub-$40,000 small SUV segment, but the Hyundai has recently been replaced by the Tucson, which is a segment larger than the ix35. Within its own line-up the HR-V is followed in year-to-date sales by the Jazz (6604), the CR-V (5515) and the Civic (3019).
