New models - Genesis - GV60Refreshed Genesis GV60 here in JuneUpdated driveline, battery, and connectivity for Genesis GV60, Magma variant to follow21 Apr 2026 By MATT BROGAN GENESIS is readying its refreshed GV60 electric SUV for Australian showrooms, the facelifted model arriving in June priced from $88,300 plus on-road costs ahead of the yet-to-be-determined – but now confirmed – arrival of the high-performance Magma variant.
The premium small SUV segment player competes against the likes of BMW iX1 (from $86,800), Lexus UX 300e (from $80,720), and Mercedes-Benz EQA (from $84,900) and is now improved with a stronger driveline, larger battery, and improved connectivity and technology features.
Redesigned both inside and out with the Korean brand’s latest Beauty of White Space styling cues, the GV60 is offered as a “newly accessible entry point to the Genesis EV range”, offered in Advanced RWD trim spec from $88,300 plus on-road costs – now placing it below applicable LCT and FBT exemption thresholds.
The repositioned pricing of the GV60 sees $15,082 cut from the entry point to the range, the Advanced RWD replacing both the Lux AWD (previously $103,382) and Lux Performance AWD (previously $110,384) – variants that will give way to the forthcoming Magma AWD from later this year.
Visually, the 2026 Genesis GV60 Advanced RWD now incorporates body-coloured elements across the body, reprofiled bumpers, and a new three-dimensional grille with Two-Line Full Micro-Lens Array (MLA) LED headlights.
Updated 19-inch alloy wheels shod with Michelin tyres are said to complement the coupe-style silhouette and newly body-coloured wheel arch cladding, while body-coloured fender garnishes and a rear skid plate provide “a modern and rugged SUV look”.
The changes, however, are not just aesthetic. Genesis says the revised frontal mask, grille, and aerodynamic underbody cover contribute to a reduced drag coefficient of 0.28 (-0.01Cd).
Genesis will offer the updated GV60 in a range of nine exterior colours, including matte (+$4000), metallic, and pearl finishes.
Moving inside, the redesigned cabin in defined by a larger 27.0-inch combined instrumentation and infotainment screen offering connectivity with an updated Genesis Connected Services suite with Digital Key 2.0 functionality and over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
A new-look three-spoke steering wheel, Crystal Sphere shift-by-wire transmission selector, and optional Glacier White/Ash Grey two-tone upholstery selection round out the changes.
Mechanically, the 2026 Genesis GV60 is updated to include a larger 84kWh (+6.6kWh) high-voltage battery pack, extending WLTP certified range to 561km (up from 473km previously).
The pack may be charged from 10-80 per cent in as little as 18 minutes when connected to a compatible 350kW DC appliance.
Further, Genesis says an upgraded battery conditioning system optimises fast-charging, even at lower temperatures.
The single motor, 168kW/350Nm rear-wheel drive GV60 also offers updated regenerative braking software alongside enhanced four-piston monobloc front callipers, and a “range of ride, handling, and refinement upgrades”.
These are understood to include a sharpened steering rack, upgraded soundproofing materials, and the addition of hydro bushings to the rear suspension (previously offered only at the front) to “minimise the transmission of road vibrations”.
All safety technologies continue for 2026 with the Genesis GV60 retaining its five-star ANCAP safety rating.
“The GV60 represents a significant step forward for Genesis in Australia, combining our most advanced electric technology with a newly accessible price point that fundamentally broadens its appeal,” said head of Genesis Motors Australia Justin Douglass.
“This is not just an update, but a clear repositioning of the GV60 at the right moment for the market, delivering premium design, innovation, and real-world usability in a way that makes electric luxury more attainable than ever.”
While yet to divulge pricing, Mr Douglass said the GV60 range will be joined by the “searing, high-performance GV60 Magma” later this year.
The variant will offer 448kW of power and 700Nm of torque, dual motor all-wheel drive, an e-LSD, Drift Mode, and a Virtual Gear Shift system – all technologies familiar to the related Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Further details on the variant are expected to be announced soon.
