New models - Geely - EX5Geely prices new EX5 electric SUVBuyer benefits back sharp pricing for new Geely EX5, now from $42,707 drive-away12 Mar 2025 GEELY has announced drive-away pricing (based on ACT costs) for its new EX5 fully electric mid-size SUV starting from $42,707.45 for the entry level Complete model with the higher spec’ Inspire priced from $46,707.45 d/a.
Until April 30, the offer includes a complimentary 7kW home charging unit as well as complimentary one-year/1000kWh public charging, three years of complimentary servicing, complimentary premium paint, and a 3.88 per cent comparison finance rate.
Concurrently, Geely also unveiled an offer for “ultimate peace of mind” including a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, eight-year/unlimited/kilometre high-voltage battery warranty, seven year assured service pricing, up to seven years of complimentary roadside assist (when serviced within the Geely dealership network,) and two years of complimentary car connectivity.
Further sweetening the deal, the Chinese importer has developed pre-paid service plans allowing for upfront purchasing of scheduled maintenance for three-, five-, or seven-year durations.
Geely says these pre-paid service plans offer customers many benefits including savings, protection from future pricing increases, transferability to new owners, redemption across the Geely network, and the inclusion of premium roadside assistance for the duration of the plan.
The pricing announcement ended months of media speculation that suggested the new model would be pitched from $49,000-$55,000 excluding on-road costs. Geely’s offer sees the EX5 undercut rivals including the Deepal S07 (from $53,900), Leapmotor C10 (from $45,888), Xpeng G6 (from $54,800), and Zeekr X (from $56,900).
The Tesla Model Y is also considered a rival and is currently available from $63,400 plus on-road costs.
Built on Geely’s newly developed GEA platform, the EX5 is powered by a front-mounted, front wheel drive “11-in-1” electric motor that produces 160kW and 320Nm.
Power comes courtesy of a 60.22kWh lithium-iron- phosphate (LFP) battery pack operating as part of a 400-volt system.
The driving range for the EX5 is 430km (WLTP) for the Complete and 410km (WLTP) for the Inspire model. The 0-100km/h sprint can be achieved in a claimed 6.9 seconds.
As part of its electrical ecosystem, the EX5 can provide both vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) functions. The electric SUV can support more than one appliance plugged in at a time with 3.3kW of maximum output.
The EX5 can also boost fellow electric vehicles back on the road with V2V at a rate of 6kW – enough to get back on the road and to a nearby charging station.
Geely says the EX5 is set to “redefine the electric vehicle experience for Australian consumers and is the best choice for drivers who value class-leading comfort, cutting-edge technology, and safety features in their vehicles.”
It is well equipped with a host of standard equipment (model dependent) including 18-or 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, keyless entry, a panoramic glass roof (Inspire grade only), electric tailgate, a 15.4-inch touchscreen media system with native sat nav, connected services, and via OTA updates later in the year smartphone mirroring tech.
Other features, again model dependent, includes a 16-speaker Flyme sound system (including front headrest speakers), 10.25-inch driver info screen, head-up display, dual-zone climate control, and electrically adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions.
An extensive suite of ADAS is included with other active, passive, primary and secondary safety features.
“We have a long-term plan for Australia and are fully committed to bringing both vehicles and mobility solutions to Australia that not only suit consumer needs but also offer accessible value,” said Geely Auto Australia chief executive officer Li Lei.
“The EX5 Complete offers a well-rounded package that does not compromise when it comes to safety, technology features, and premium experience.
“The Inspire adds extra feature ‘perks’ that enhance the driving experience and comfort for all occupants. We can’t wait to see the EX5 out on Australian roads being experienced, driven and lived with every single day.”
