New models - Ford - TerritoryFord ups the ante with Territory safety packFord is aiming to put more value into the Territory6 Dec 2006 IN an effort to stave off new rivals like the Mazda CX-7 and Holden Captiva, Ford has announced two new safety packages for its Territory TX and TS rear-wheel drives. The safety pack available on Territory TX RWD incorporates dynamic stability control, power adjustable pedals and side curtain airbags. Purchased individually, these features have a recommended retail price of $1950, but the safety pack is available for $1500. On the Territory TS RWD the safety package adds a reversing camera for $1500 – a $700 saving over purchasing the features individually. Territory pricing starts at $39,490 for the TX RWD. Ford is hopeful the packages will also drive buyer interest as Territory sales have dipped by 19 per cent this year. However, it still remains one of the country's best-selling SUVs.
