New models - Ford - MustangMustang from $115,000Latest American pony car now available in Australia19 Sep 2007 By TERRY MARTIN QUEENSLAND-BASED importer Performax International has achieved Australian Design Rules (ADR) compliance for a right-hand drive Ford Mustang GT three months ahead of schedule, and is now offering both a coupe and convertible version of the iconic American V8 sportscar from $115,000. According to Performax, the ADR compliance also means it will “soon” be able to offer the high-performance 5.4-litre V8 Shelby GT500 (coupe only, from $179,990) and Saleen Mustangs. Power for the GT comes from a 224kW (300hp) 4.6-litre V8, driving through a five-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Standard features on Australian versions include ABS, traction control, 18-inch alloy wheels (with Z-rated 235/50 tyres) and a rear boot spoiler. Inside, there is air-conditioning, power windows, remote central locking, driver’s seat power adjustment and six-CD stereo. All models come with a four-year/120,000km warranty, with roadside assistance.
