New models - Chery - Omoda5 - FXChery adds FX grade to Omoda 5 rangeNow available to order, the Chery Omoda 5 FX will sit beneath the BX grade from $27,990 d/a2 Jul 2024 By MATT BROGAN CHERY Australia has announced the introduction of a new entrant in its Omoda 5 SUV line-up, the ‘FX’ grade now available to order from $27,990 drive-away.
Sitting beneath the entry-level BX as the new entry point to the Omoda 5 range, the FX features as standard 17-inch alloy wheels, fabric upholstery with synthetic leather bolsters, single-zone climate control, halogen projector-style headlights and a six-speaker Sony audio system.
All other features are as per the Omoda 5 BX (from $34,490 drive-away), including the 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine developing 108kW of power and 210Nm of torque.
Importantly, standard safety equipment is unchanged with adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, driver attention monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic assist, reversing camera, traffic sign recognition, and seven airbags.
“The FX model is a welcome addition to the Omoda 5 range, offering consumers more choice while maintaining our focus on value for money,” said Chery Australia chief executive officer Lewis Lu.
As is the case with all Chery passenger vehicles, the Omoda 5 FX is offered with a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty including seven years’ capped price servicing and roadside assistance.
The Chery Omoda 5 was introduced to the Australian market last year and has since sold over 7000 units.
Year-to-date sales figures show the Omoda 5 as a popular entrant within the SUV Small under $45K segment, selling 2246 units to end of May 2024 (to rank twelfth). The segment is currently led by the MG ZS with 9839 unit sales year-to-date.
It leads the Hyundai Kona (7144), GWM Haval Jolion (5826), Mitsubishi ASX (4928), Mazda CX-30 (4868), Subaru Crosstrek (4714), Toyota Corolla Cross (4551), Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (4447), Kia Seltos (3634), Volkswagen T-Roc (3213), and Nissan Qashqai (3172).
