New models - Audi - A7 - SportbackAudi announces new-gen A7 pricingTwo-variant Audi A7 range touching down in November from $131,900 plus ORCs3 Aug 2018 AUDI has revealed pricing for its all-new second-generation A7 Sportback range that is set to arrive in Australian showrooms in November starting from $131,900 plus on-road costs for the two launch variants.
Increasing the point of entry by $17,289 over the outgoing range, the new A7 will be powered by two turbocharged V6 engines in both petrol and diesel guise, marking the first time a turbo-petrol V6 has been included in the range.
Using Audi’s new nomenclature, the 55 TFSI employs a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 producing 250kW/500Nm driving all four wheel via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the 50 TDI will arrive soon after the launch packing a 210kW/600Nm punch from its 3.0-litre oil-burning bent-six, mated to an eight-speed tiptronic auto.
The price of entry has gone up over the outgoing model as there is no base four-cylinder petrol unit, but next year Audi will launch the 45 TFSI that develops 180kW/370Nm from its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which also gets the seven-speed dual-clutch and quattro all-wheel drive. Pricing for the 45 TFSI is yet to be detailed.
V6 versions will also gain the 48-volt mild-hybrid system rolled out on new-gen A6 and A8 models, which the car-maker claims can result in fuel savings of up to 0.7 litres per 100km.
Customers can expect the more potent S7 and RS7 versions to join the range down the track.
Ride and handling is enhanced with standard adaptive suspension, while Audi says the increased specification of the new model will add up to $10,000 of additional value for buyers.
Standard kit on V6 versions includes 20-inch alloys, Audi’s virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster, head-up display, sport front seats with electric adjustment and heating function, three-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, Valcona leather upholstery, mircofibre trim, interior lighting package with ambient lighting, S Line interior package and Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system.
Audi’s MMI infotainment system is projected onto two separate screens measuring 10.1 and 8.6 inches in width, with haptic and acoustic feedback, handwriting recognition, voice control and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The S Line styling package is included and it features a wider grille and larger air intakes than the outgoing model, and HD Matrix LED headlights with dynamic indicators.
Standard safety kit on the new A7 includes adaptive cruise control with stop & go and traffic jam assist, surround-view monitor with kerb view, autonomous emergency braking, active lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic assist, side assist, turn assist and collision avoidance, among others.
Through the first half of 2018, Audi has sold 83 examples of the A7, up 72.9 per cent over the 48 it managed to the same point last year.
Additional details on the A7 Sportback will be released closer to the model’s launch in November.
