Alfa stays driveaway

ALFA Romeo has extended the driveaway pricing offer it kicked off in January when the Italian brand’s Australian sales slumped by 46.7 per cent from the same month last year.

The February-only offer includes free registration, CTP, stamp duty and dealer delivery costs across the entire line-up, including the 147 small hatch (which was 54.1 per cent less popular in January), the 159 medium sedan and wagon range (sales of which slumped by 47.9 per cent) and the Brera, GT and Spider two-door models.

Alfa says the deal equates to a saving of more than $3800 on the 159 JTD 1.9, which is now priced $2000 lower than last year’s price at $49,990 on the road, while the 147’s $39,990 on-the-road price is claimed to represent a $3600 discount.

Buyers of the Alfa GT coupe, with a driveaway price of $54,990, are said to be $4000 better off, while Alfa says the Spider convertible’s unchanged $69,990 driveaway price represents a saving of more than $5300.

Alfa Romeo general manager in Australia, Edward Butler, said there had never been a better time to buy an Alfa Romeo. “And, with the state of the Australian dollar, there probably never will be again,” he said.

“These prices, the high levels of standard equipment and, of course, the style and performance that comes as standard with every Alfa Romeo, mean that it has never been easier to own the Alfa Romeo that your heart has always desired.”
