New models - Alfa Romeo - 147Ducati-badged 147 honours Stoner's world championshipNew Alfa 147 Ducati Corse celebrates Aussie Casey Stoner's 2007 MotoGP world title8 Jul 2008 ALFA Romeo, the official supplier to the Ducati MotoGP team, has launched a special-edition version of its entry-level 147 hatch to celebrate Australian Casey Stoner’s crowning as 2007 world champion, priced at $41,098. Limited to just 20 examples nationally, the 147 Ducati Corse is Australia’s first Alfa model to be fitted with the Italian maker’s so-called Q2 front differential and comes with the most powerful diesel engine ever fitted to a 147, plus an electronically-adjustable accelerator pedal. The exclusive 147 is powered by the new JTD-M version of Alfa’s Multijet turbo-diesel engine, which produces 127kW and is claimed to propel the Ducati-badged 147 to 100km/h in eight seconds and to a top speed of 215km/h. Available in Etna Black, Ice White and Giulietta Red exterior paint colours, the Stoner 147 also gains unique 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/40-section tyres, “satin finish” door mirrors, red brake callipers, a rear spoiler and, inside, sports instruments, aluminium pedals and sports seats trimmed in black leather with red stitching.
