One and a half: Mitsubishi designers appear to have borrowed the e-Evolution Concept’s door design from Mazda’s RX-8 which had one large front door and a smaller rear opener for back seat passengers.
The Tokyo motor show has finished up for another year, with plenty of reveals helping to whet the appetite until the next event.
Mazda starred with its gorgeous Kai and Vision Coupe concepts, which preview the next-generation Mazda3 and Mazda6 respectively. If the two new production models look anything like their show car counterparts, Mazda will continue to light up the sales charts.
Meanwhile, Nissan rolled out its take on an autonomous, full-electric SUV. Dubbed IMx, the concept produces 320kW of power and 700Nm of torque, while providing 600km of pure-electric driving range.
Lexus wowed with its LS+ Concept, which demonstrates the Japanese car-maker's take on automated driving, with these features to be introduced later on in the LS luxury sedan's current lifecycle.

We are now on the eve of the 2017 Tokyo motor show, which promises to be an action-packed affair.
Mazda will roll out at least two concepts, with one likely previewing the new-generation Mazda3 hatchback, while the other will be a future design study that is said to hint at the next Mazda6.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi's showcase will be highlighted by its take on the future of the Evolution nameplate, with the e-Evolution concept to employ electric vehicle (EV) architecture in a coupe-style SUV body.
Honda will look to follow up its well-received Urban EV Concept from the Frankfurt show last month, with the Sports EV Concept to continue the retro theme in a two-door coupe body style.
Elsewhere, Subaru's headline act will be the Viziv Performance Concept, which seemingly provides a taste of what the next-generation WRX and WRX STI may look like.
Toyota will display a series of concepts, including the 86-based GR HV Sports, Tj Cruiser, Concept-i Ride, Concept-i Walk, Sora and Fine-Comfort Ride, and possibly even more.

The 2015 showed off some exciting new product from Japanese manufacturers, including the next-generation Honda NSX and the Mazda RX-Vision concept which will preview Mazda’s next rotary model.
