Perhaps the most disappointing motor show in recent Australian history – and the last to be organized solely by the FCAI, this was an event completely overshadowed by the doom and gloom of the GFC, which was only now starting to really make its impact felt worldwide.
Along with a large chunk of the population, many carmakers decided not to show up, and that became the most notable thing about AIMS ’08. Oz debuts included the Suzuki Alto, Volvo XC60, and VW Passat CC.
