Chinese market exclusive vehicles were on show, with Honda unveiling its Concept D, previewing a new styling direction for SUVs in the region, Nissan showing off its Lannia, a new mid-sizer aimed at the young buyer, and the Aussie-designed Ford Taurus, a large-sized flagship sedan for the Eastern market. Elsewhere, Lexus unleashed its facelifted ES sedan, featuring updated cosmetic styling, while Audi took the wraps off its petrol-electric Q7 e-tron hybrid and its sleek Prologue Allroad wagon concept. With the curtain now drawn on Auto Shanghai, the next major motor show won't be held until September, where Germany will host the Frankfurt auto show. One of the most crowd-pulling debuts was by General Motors giant Chevrolet and its FNR concept, which showcased a wedge-shaped, scissor-doored, magnetic-wheeled electric supercar, and garnered significant attention from passers-by. MG took the covers off its production-ready GS SUV - a segment first for the Chinese-owned British car-maker - and it is expected to arrive Down Under next year to compete against the Nissan X-Trail, Mitsubishi Outlander and Mazda CX-5.
