WHEN: Every odd-year in April. Alternates with Beijing STATUS: Shares the glory with Beijing as the world’s biggest motor showAuto Shanghai is another biennial show, sharing the title as China’s premier new-car motor show with the Beijing Auto Show. The first show in Shanghai was held in 1985.

Like the Beijing show, the event is grew in global stature each year as China became the globe’s largest single new-vehicle market.

It is held in the Shanghai New International Expo Center in the Pudong commercial district of Shanghai.

Auto Shanghai is not as yet recognised by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles, but the Union des Foires Internationales, also known as the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has sanctioned the Auto Shanghai since 2004.
