2018 New York International Auto ShowMotor show circuit returns to the US29 Mar 2018 By SPENCER LEECH in NEW YORK THE New York International Auto Show is underway for 2018 with Japanese, Korean, American and European manufacturers coming to play. Performance SUVs are in high demand at the moment, so Jaguar and Maserati have responded by unleashing the 404kW/680Nm F-Pace SVR and 440kW/730Nm Levante Trofeo respectively. Speaking of SUVs, the tougher-looking Toyota RAV4 and same-looking Subaru Outback have also made their debuts, with both set to do combat in the mid-size segment when they launch within the next 12 months. Furthermore, Hyundai joined the party with its facelifted Tucson. Genesis flew the flag for stunning show cars with its Essentia concept, a pure-electric sportscar that is seemingly set to enter production in a few year’s time. Arguably, it is the best model on display. The Germans have made some noise, too, with the performance-focused Audi RS5 Sportback and Mercedes-AMG C63 facelift providing some bark to match the Big Apple’s bite. Keep an eye on GoAuto.com.au as we continue to bring you all the latest coverage from New York. 10/01/2018 THE Big Apple will gear up to host the fourth major motor show of 2018 in April, and as always, we expect it to be a biggie. In 2017, and in true American form, it was big-bore V8 variants that stole the show. Dodge unveiled its ludicrous Challenger SRT Demon boasting devilish looks and a supercharged Hemi V8 that allowed it to clock the zero-to-100km/h sprint in just 2.3 seconds. Jeep had a similar idea, taking a detuned version of that same motor and chucking it under the bonnet of its Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Months away, we are unsure exactly what's is in store for this year's New York show, but we will keep you posted as soon as more information comes to light.
