2017 New York International Auto ShowThe 2017 motor show circuit returns to the US for the Big Apple extravaganza18 Apr 2017 By JUSTIN HILLIARD and ROBBIE WALLIS in NEW YORK And that is a wrap. The New York motor has drawn to a close for 2017. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will be happy with its haul after the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon bullied its way into the limelight on the back of some unbelievable performance figures. Not to be outdone, Jeep shoehorned a detuned version of the same supercharged V8 under the bonnet of its Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, with the pair sure to burn plenty of rubber when they hit the road later this year. As always, there was plenty of activity with models exclusive to North America attracting most of the headlines. However, Aussies can expect to see production versions of the Infiniti QX80, Lexus LS 500 F Sport and the Trackhawk to arrive Down Under sooner rather than later. We are looking forward to seeing what the Big Apple has in store for us next year. 13/03/2017 We are officially underway for another year at the New York motor show. Dodge has stolen the headlines with its ludicrous Challenger SRT Demon which, as the name suggests, offers a devilish amount of performance. Scarcely believable numbers like zero to 100km/h in a world-record 2.3 seconds or a quarter-mile sprint in just 9.65s mean the Demon is the stuff of legends. As always, there have been plenty of concept cars doing the rounds with the Subaru Ascent and Genesis GV80 providing a preview of their forthcoming SUV production models. Lexus has rolled out the third variant its soon-to-be-released LS luxury sedan line-up, with F Sport adding a performance edge to the range. Meanwhile, several North America-only models have made their public debut, including the Kia Rio sedan, Lincoln Navigator, Buick Enclave and Acura TLX. Stay tuned to GoAuto.com.au as even more models break cover. 11/04/2017 The New York show is less than two days away now, but few models have been teased in advance. What we do know is that Mercedes will follow up last year's New York debut of the GLC mid-size SUV with the full-fat AMG GLC63. Both wagon and Coupe body styles will be shown before the twin-turbo V8 bruiser goes on-sale in Australia late this year. Powered-up SUVs appear to be in vogue as Jeep will be following suit with its brutal Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Packing 527kW and 874Nm from a supercharged 6.2-litre V8. Not yet confirmed for a local release, the performance flagship will definitely be at the top of wish lists. Meanwhile, Infiniti will roll-out its QX80 Monograph as a preview for its next-gen large-size SUV, which was last updated globally in 2010. A new design language will be incorporated, hinting at potential changes for future models. Last year Mazda revealed its hard-top MX-5 RF, Mercedes debuted its BMW X4-fighting GLC Coupe, and a number of performance cars received updates, including the Nissan GT-R, Chevrolet Camaro and Audi R8 V10.
