2014 Los Angeles Auto ShowAll the stars are set to come out at this year's Los Angeles auto show12 Aug 2014 By DANIEL GARDNER in LOS ANGELES 01/12/14TUNG NGUYENJust because the LA motor show is the last of the year, doesn't mean it has the least to offer. The overall theme of the show was definitely on the future of greener motoring, with hydrogen fuel-cell cars the focus of the event. No less than five hydrogen-powered cars from three different auto-makers were in attendance, with Volkswagen showing off Golf and Passat Hymotion models, Audi unveiling its A7 Sportback h-tron, Toyota bringing its recently revealed Mirai and Honda showcasing its FCV concept. Although it will be some time before we see hydrogen fuel-cell cars on Australian roads, LA has offered a preview of what might be in store for the future of motoring. It might not have fit in with the hydrogen-flavoured vibe of the show, but Mazda threw the covers off its much teased – and now finally seen – Mazda2-based CX-3 compact SUV. Also seen at the show were the tweaked Mazda6 and CX-5, both receiving blink-and-you-will-miss them facelifts. Lexus managed to stun audiences with its uniquely styled LF-C2 concept, potentially forming the underpinnings of a new Japanese luxury convertible. Ford showcased its latest high-performance Mustang in the form of the Shelby GT350 and Jaguar unleashed its all-wheel-drive F-Type coupe and convertible. LA marks the end of the 2014 major motor show scene, but its not long now until it all starts up again in Detroit in January, so stay tuned to GoAuto for all your motor show coverage. 19/11/14TUNG NGUYENThe Los Angeles motor show is now just around the corner and many manufacturers are slowly revealing what will be in attendance at 2014's last major auto show. Lexus has been drip-feeding teaser images of its upcoming convertible, set to replace the ageing IS250C and likely to go into production next year. Jaguar will launch a new F-Type variant, bringing all-wheel-drive to its slick-looking coupe and convertible. Porsche will be on hand to show off its Panamera Exclusive, a bespoke Panamera swathed in extra luxurious detailing, such as a hand-painted two-tone finish, genuine interior wood trim and Chestnut Brown leather upholstery. BMW are bringing out its big guns in the form of the aggressively-styled M-badged X5 and X6 models, marking their international debut in LA. Audi has also revealed that it will be sending its hugely-capable R8 off with a bang in the form of a limited-edition Competition R8, complete with the same 419kW/540Nm 5.2-litre V10 from the R8 LMX. With much more news to come, keep it on GoAuto for all the latest direct from LA. 29/10/14TUNG NGUYENWith the Los Angeles auto show now less than a month away, news is coming thick and fast about the last major motor show of 2014. Mazda is pulling out all the stops, with confirmation that it will unveil a revised look for both the Mazda6 and CX-5, as well as holding the worldwide debut of the new Mazda2-based CX-3 SUV. Shaping up to be a bit of an SUV-fest, Volvo's new XC90 will make its first North American appearance during the show, along with the Land Rover Discovery Sport and US-spec Honda HR-V. The LA auto show is fast approaching so stay tuned to GoAuto for all the latest coverage. 24/09/14TUNG NGUYENAlthough still a few months out, the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show is already shaping up to be a landmark event. LA will play host to the unveiling of 60 cars to the world, with about half of them being international debuts and the majority of them either luxury or performance orientated models. Rumours are circulating already that Audi will unveil its four-door coupe concept, potentially dubbed A9. Mercedes-Benz however, is resurrecting its S-Class based Maybach luxury sedan, which will be joining the already revealed Mercedes-AMG GT and upcoming C63 AMG. Porsche will be spearheading its LA Auto Show campaign with the reveal of its 2015 911 Carrera GTS, which is sure to garner lots of attention. BMW will also try to catch the world's attention with the North American debut of its 2-series convertible range. Meanwhile, American marque Chevrolet will unveil two models and Chrysler will take the covers off its updated 300 large sedan. For all things LA Auto Show, stay tuned to GoAuto. 12/08//14EVERY year, under the trademark Los Angeles smog, the world’s car-makers converge to show-off their latest hardware, often reserving the year’s most environmentally friendly offerings for the Californian event. In addition to the anticipated fuel-sippers, the 2013 show also debuted a good number of equally popular but slightly less green sports and supercars to keep the petrol-heads happy, and 2014 is likely to follow the same trend. The premium European brands also feature highly in California so all eyes will be on what follows last year’s generous offering from all the big-hitters.
