Future models - Volvo - C70Volvo's C70 CC debuts Down UnderOn sale here in August, Volvo's all-new C70 coupe-convertible makes its Aussie debut17 Feb 2006 By CHRIS HARRIS VOLVO’S C70 T5 coupe-cabrio made its Australian debut in Melbourne last week, professing to be the best of both worlds. At the flick of the switch, it converts from snug coupe to open-top tourer via a three-piece metal cabriolet hardtop that swivels into the boot in less than 30 seconds and is hidden by a flush-fitting tonneau. With the roof up there is 400 litres of luggage space - twice the amount available with the roof down. The turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder C70 T5 CC is due to arrive in August with pricing of around $80,000. It delivers 162kW at 5000rpm and 320Nm from 1500rpm: enough to push the four-seater from 0-100km/h in 7.6 seconds. Australia will also get the naturally aspirated 2.4i model, which uses an 2.4-litre in-line five-cylinder engine developing 125kW and 230Nm.
