Reinvented: VW says Iroc harks back to its 1970s Scirocco coupe.
VOLKSWAGEN says it has reinterpreted its original Giorgetto Giugiaro-styled Scirocco coupe from the 1970s with the Iroc concept.
Revealed last week, the compact Iroc hatch also features four "fully-fledged" seats and a large boot accessed via a generous hatchback.
Measuring just 1400mm high, 4240mm long and 1800mm wide, Iroc rides on a 2680mm wheelbase and 19-inch wheels. Power comes from VW’s "Twincharger" TSI four-cylinder from the overseas-only Golf GT, mated to a DSG direct shift gearbox.
In the Iroc, the supercharged and turbocharged 1.4 offers 155kW.
