Mid-sizers for Seat

HELL-BENT on broadening the European and international appeal of its Spanish brand Seat, Volkswagen has announced it will produce two new models – a sedan and wagon – in the medium-sized segment.

Set to rival the likes of the Ford Mondeo and Peugeot 407, the as-yet-unnamed models will be produced in Spain and hit European showrooms in 2009.

And Australia? That all depends on the success of Volkswagen Group Australia’s brave new venture with Skoda, which will re-emerge here in October.
