Grand Tourer: Compact rear-drive GT offers a 194kW 2.0-litre mill.
IF ALFA’S Spider will turn heads at Geneva, this one will cause whiplash for those waiting for a return of the iconic Opel GT, which was first builtbetween 1968 and 1973.
The small rear-drive rag-top uses a front-mounted 194kW 2.0-litre direct-injection four-cylinder petrol engine, which Opel claims can propel the car from zero to 100km/h in less than six seconds and reach a top speed of 230km/h.
Based on the 2003 VX Lightning concept car, the GT will be built in the United States upon the same platform as the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky. Production begins next year.
