Mitsubishi teases updated Outlander

New tech, revised style and improved PHEV system for updated Outlander range

5 Aug 2024

MITSUBISHI has teased its updated Outlander mid-size SUV this week, the model due to be unveiled before the end of the year with new technology, revised styling, and an improved plug-in hybrid powertrain.

GoAuto understands the revised Mitsubishi Outlander will go on sale in the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) this spring, with international markets to follow shortly thereafter.

Key updates for the Outlander will include a “more refined and sophisticated” frontal treatment, refreshed colour palette, redesigned alloy wheels – including a 20-inch two-tone option – and a “greatly improved” interior.

While specifics of the cabin update are yet to be revealed, Mitsubishi Motors has announced new upholstery options with ventilated leather front pews available, an updated 12.3-inch infotainment array (+2.3 inches than largest offering to date), and a Yamaha-sourced premium audio system with four “realistic” modes.

Importantly, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) will adopt a new battery offering “significantly” extended all-electric driving range, and a higher total system output for “powerful and smooth acceleration”.

It is also understood the model will receive suspension and steering adjustments to improve ride comfort and handling.

Further details are expected to be announced before the beginning of September.
