Dubbed the Awards Edition to celebrate the more than 50 awards for the brand’s fifth-generation four-door grand tourer since it emerged globally in 2004, the newest Maserati is based on the Quattroporte Sport GT S. To differentiate it from lesser versions of the Pininfarina-designed sedan that pioneered the modern-day luxury four-door ‘coupe’ segment and became the best-selling Maserati of all time, the Awards Edition is swathed in an exclusive new ‘Quarzo fuso’ pearlescent metallic grey exterior paint finish with “golden nuanced colouring”. It also features unique 20-inch ‘Multi Trident’ dark-grey alloy wheels with satin finish, a burnished chrome grille, side air-vents and exterior detailing, and a unique external ‘Awards Edition’ series plaque. Hand-polished Brembo brake callipers are fitted all round, while inside the Awards Edition offers Poltrona Frau leather and Alcantara-clad seats, Piano Black satin-finish wood mouldings and brushed aluminium door sills. Rounding out the changes are thicker, softer floor mats and a boot with full black lining, chrome details and a leather side pocket. Maserati says the Quattroporte – the next model to be replaced in the historic Italian brand’s line-up – has won no fewer than 56 awards from the most prestigious automotive and lifestyle publications in 14 countries across four continents.
