Future models - Lamborghini - UrusLamborghini debuts hybridised Urus SEUp to 80pc lower emissions, and 100kW more power than most powerful petrol model25 Apr 2024 By MATT BROGAN LAMBORGHINI has hybridised its Urus SUV, the ‘SE’ variant offering a claimed 80 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions and up to 100kW more power and 100Nm more torque than the most powerful petrol-powered variant.
Due in European dealerships by the end of the year – and Down Under in 2025 – the plug-in hybrid Lamborghini Urus SE tips the scale at over 2500kg, making it the heaviest model in the Italian supercar maker’s portfolio.
The electrified Urus is powered by a 456kW/800Nm twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 paired with 141kW/483Nm electric motor. The latter is set within the driveline’s eight-speed automatic transmission to produce a combined output figure of 588kW/950Nm.
Electrical energy is supplied via a 25.7kWh battery pack set aft of the electronically controlled rear differential.
Lamborghini says the Urus SE will accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds, to 200km/h in 11.4 seconds and on to a v-max of 312km/h. All electric driving range is listed at “more than 60km”.
The all-wheel drive SUV is offered with six driving modes – Strada, Sport, Corsa, Neve, Sabbia, and Terra – and four hybrid-specific modes – Electric, Hybrid, Performance and Recharge.
Lamborghini offers the Urus SE as standard with adaptive air suspension.
The all-new model introduces a revised frontal treatment for the Urus with restyled bonnet and bumper cover – improving air flow – new look Matrix LED headlights, a reshaped tailgate and lower rear diffuser, Y-shaped tail-lights, and a new spoiler that is claimed to generate up to 35 per cent more downforce than the Urus S.
Urus SE further adds bespoke Galanthus 23-inch alloy wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero rubber and as many as 100 exterior paint options and 47 interior combinations. A larger infotainment screen (12.3 inches versus 10.1) runs new-generation software, and is joined by new look switchgear, ventilation outlets, dashboard design, and seating.
