Future models - Lamborghini - Murcielago - RoadsterFirst look: Murcielago gets the Lambo chopLamborghini presents the production version of its flagship supercar2 Mar 2004 AUDI-controlled Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has unveiled the convertible version of its Murcielago at the Geneva motor show. Called the Roadster, it is the production version of the Murcielago concept car revealed at last year’s Detroit Motor Show. Due out in the second half of this year in Europe, the Murcielago Roadster loses none of the coupe’s performance or dynamic abilities. Lamborghini says it is “as powerful, fast and extreme as the Coupe version from which it derives". The Murcielago coupe is powered by a new 6.2-litre, all-alloy V12 engine that produces 426kW at 7500rpm and 650Nm of torque at 5400rpm. The Roadster comes after a long line of super car drop tops, such as the stunning Miura Roaster and the pre-Audi days Diablo Roadster – which the Murcielago version belatedly replaces in Lamborghini’s line-up.
