Monstrous Swedish supercar to pack a mind-blowing 1000kW of power11 Feb 2014 THE latest creation from Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg has emerged, triggering speculation that the 1000kW monster may go public at the upcoming Geneva motor show. The outlandish Koenigsegg One:1 has one horsepower for every one of its 1340kg of kerb weight – the reason for its namesake - and could be the first real threat to the world production car V-max record, currently held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. To put that into perspective, the mad Koenigsegg One:1 weighs around the same as a 1.6-litre Ford Focus, but with more than ten times the power output. With only a view of the extraordinary vehicle’s behind to go on, the One:1 bears a resemblance to the Agera R, which was outed shortly after the ‘standard’ version at the Geneva show in 2011. That car had a comparatively sedate 820kW but could crack the magic 100km/h benchmark in just 2.9 seconds, so it’s successor may not only take the 431km/h top speed record from the Bugatti but could also make off with the 2.8 second 0-100km/h sprint crown held by Nissan’s GT-R too. With its huge rear wing the car is said to generate a whopping 600kg of downforce enabling cornering forces up to twice the force of gravity. Other record-threatening equipment could include active aerodynamics and an ‘active chassis’, but until the car is officially unveiled, the details will have to remain the stuff of fantasy. ![]() Read more16th of April 2013 ![]() Bugatti Veyron back on topGuinness backflip reinstates Bugatti Veyron Super Sport as world’s fastest car28th of March 2011 ![]() Swedes reveal astonishing performance figuresLatest Koenigsegg supercar goes ballistic with 820kW of power and 1200Nm of torqueAll future models![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Motor industry news |
