Future models - Jaguar - F-PaceJaguar expands XE, XF, F-Pace with new four-potNew 221kW Ingenium four-cylinder petrol added to Jaguar XE, XF, F-Pace rangeGalleryClick to see larger images 27 Jun 2017 JAGUAR has added a new 221kW turbo-petrol four-cylinder Ingenium engine to its XE, XF and F-Pace ranges, ahead of an Australian arrival around the end of the year. Distinguished by a 30t badge, the new four-pot pumps out 221kW at 5500rpm and 400Nm between 1500-4500rpm, mated to an eight-speed XF transmission. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels in the XE and XF pair, while the F-Pace gets all-paw traction. Under the bonnet of the XE mid-sizer, the 0-100km/h sprint can be completed in 5.7 seconds, with a fuel consumption rating of 6.7 litres per 100km, and CO2 emissions of 153grams per km. In the XF large sedan, 0-100km/h takes 5.9s, while sipping 6.8L/100km and also emitting 153g/km of CO2. The larger F-Pace takes 6.0s to reach the landmark 100km/h figure, while fuel economy is rated at 7.7L/100km and CO2 emissions at 174g/km. In February Jaguar announced it would be updating its existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engines in the XE, XF and F-Pace, which are arriving in showrooms mid-year. The entry-level 20t variant, which is available only in the XE and XF, packs an unchanged 147kW punch, while torque has lifted by 40Nm to 320Nm. All three models get the more powerful 25t variant, which puts out 184kW/365Nm, representing a 7kW/25Nm increase. Also included in the February update was a twin-turbo 2.0-litre turbo-diesel for the bigger XF and F-Pace, making a meaty 177kW/500Nm. Jaguar Land Rover has been busy proliferating its range with Ingenium 2.0-litre engines in 2017, with the F-Type sportscar, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque set to receive the updated mills this year. The Ingenium engines will also feature in the Land Rover Discovery 5, which is due for an Australian launch next month. Other model year 2018 updates for the XE, XF and F-Pace include selectable driving modes, hands-free boot operation, forward traffic detection, blind-spot monitoring and forward vehicle guidance. The XE will also benefit from autonomous emergency braking and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while the XF and F-Pace gain enhanced electric front seats with adjustable headrests and side-wing supports. Exact pricing for the MY 2018 30t variants will be announced closer to its launch date late in the fourth quarter.
