Spider version of Ferrari Amalfi revealed

Ferrari unveils Roma Spider successor in the Amalfi Spider, due in showrooms late 2026

17 Mar 2026

YET ANOTHER gorgeous Ferrari has broken cover in the new Amalfi Spider, an open-top sports car complementing the hardtop Amalfi coupe and replacing the Ferrari Roma Spider.

While no price details are yet available for the drop-top, the Amalfi coupe lists from $503,261 + ORC Down Under hinting at a higher price for the 1556kg convertible due later this year.

The iconic Italian manufacturer describes its sleek new model as “designed to combine the performance expected of the Prancing Horse with the versatility and comfort of a grand touring convertible”.

It is positioned as a performance-focused lifestyle model that blends dynamic driving capability with everyday usability and was unveiled at Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello as an adjunct to the Amalfi line-up with a design that “preserves the coupe’s flowing proportions while introducing an open-air driving experience”.

Like the tin-top, the Amalfi Spider is powered by a front-mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 3.9-litre V8 engine producing 477kW/760Nm delivering strong performance and immediate throttle response across a wide range of driving conditions.

Drive goes to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission facilitating a 0-100km/h time of 3.3 seconds.

The model features a brake-by-wire system designed to improve braking precision and vehicle control, working alongside the latest generation of Ferrari’s ABS Evo system to enhance stability and stopping performance across varying grip levels.

Active aerodynamic elements play a key role including a three-position rear wing that adjusts according to driving conditions to improve high-speed stability.

It takes a mere 13.5 seconds to open or close the fabric roof even while driving at speeds of up to 60km/h.

As expected, Ferrari offers a choice of tailor-made fabric or technical fabric roof finishes, with six colour options available including the new Tecnico Ottanio material.

Despite its compact design, the roof mechanism is engineered to maximise luggage capacity. With the roof closed, the Amalfi Spider offers 255 litres of storage space, while 172 litres remains available with the roof open.

Ensuring interior comfort is the roof’s five-layer construction that provides both acoustic and thermal insulation comparable to Ferrari’s retractable hard-top systems.

Said interior adopts Ferrari’s dual-cockpit interior layout, designed to emphasise the connection between driver and machine.

The steering wheel incorporates physical controls and marks a return of Ferrari’s traditional start button, while the central infotainment display is integrated into the dashboard for a clean, driver-focused layout.

The 2+ seating configuration offers what Ferrari calls “compact rear seats suited to carrying children or providing additional storage capacity for longer journeys”.

And to improve comfort during open-top driving, Ferrari has integrated a wind deflector into the rear seat backrest which can be deployed electronically to reduce turbulence within the cabin.

Moving to the exterior we find the Spider’s design was shaped by a “desire to maintain the elegant proportions of the coupe while adapting the bodywork for a convertible configuration”.

The front end is defined by a large air intake and a long-sculpted bonnet housing the twin-turbo V8 engine, while the rear features integrated aerodynamic elements including the active spoiler.

Forged 20-inch alloy wheels with choice of high-performance rubber and carbon-fibre detailing further enhance the car’s sporty stance.

With its blend of performance, open-air driving enjoyment and everyday practicality, Ferrari says the Amalfi Spider “sets a new benchmark within its range of performance-focused lifestyle models”.
