Future models - Alfa Romeo - BreraFirst Look: Brera brings it onHead-turner: As per usual, style is high on the latest Alfa sports car's agenda. Alfa's long-awaited GTV replacement finally breaks cover21 Feb 2005 THE Alfa Romeo Brera sports car will be shown in production form at Geneva, with little variation from the Giugiaro-sculpted original that debuted at the Swiss show in 2002. Due on sale in Australia mid-2006, the 2+2 coupe will become the new leading light in the Alfa range with pricing from around $60,000. It is expected to be sold in both four-cylinder JTS and V6 engines, including a range-topping 195kW 3.2-litre V6 allied to a six-speed automatic transmission, full leather interior and Alfa’s Q4 traction control system. A six-speed manual could also be available, while a GTA version is a sure bet to follow. A quadrilateral front and multi-link rear suspension is used. Critical dimensions run to an imposing 4414mm in overall length, 1830mm in width and 1372mm in height, although the design makes it looks smaller than the figures suggest.
