Super TestCar reviews - Toyota - Echo - Sportivo 5-dr hatchToyota modelsResearch Toyota Seat Plan10 Aug 2001 THE Echo design brief included the goal of accommodating four 190cm-tall adults, despite the small exterior dimensions. There is a great deal of headroom throughout the hatch cabin, measuring 1013mm in the front and 955mm in the rear compartment. Legroom dimensions are 1044mm front and 885mm rear, while shoulder room measures 1317mm and 1288mm front and rear respectively. Vehicle entry and exit is optimised by a 1510mm roof height, which allows for higher door openings. The seat hip point is 580mm above ground, to minimise bending when entering or leaving the car. The upright driving position also helps keep the dimensions compact, with Toyota claiming it enhances vision, aids city driving and reduces fatigue. The snub nose can, however, introduce a degree of guesswork with parking manoeuvres. Storage areas are in abundance and three cup holders are mounted on the centre console.
