Road TestCar reviews - Saab - 9-5 - Aero sedanSaab modelsOverviewThe 9-5 Aero used a variation of the infamous 9-3 Viggen's high-output turbo engine22 Jun 2001 SAAB'S Aero badge has returned after a short absence but this time it is not restricted to just one version. Aeros are available in both 9-5 and 9-3 models, in estate and convertible form. The pick of the lot is the 9-5 Aero sedan which has a chassis much more comfortable with its 169kW than the brutal 9-3 Viggen. It is a big, cosseting, very fast and very capable luxury saloon, able to match it in most circumstances with much pricier rivals. But as with all 9-5s, it lacks visual distinction.
