Road TestCar reviews - Rover - 75 - CDTi sedanRover modelsOverviewRover blesses its 75 medium sedan with turbo-diesel power and economy14 Jan 2005 TURBO-DIESEL engines are steadily becoming an accepted part of the Australian new car environment. Once they were limited to a few quirky European imports, but turbo-diesels are now being offered by more and more car-makers across a wide cross-section of the market. The Rover 75 CDTi boasts the usual turbo-diesel attributes of stunning torque delivery and kilometre-stretching fuel economy. The turbo-diesel also provides some push-in-the-back that is missing from Rover’s 2.5-litre V6 petrol versions. It also adds a touch of character badly needed by the British marque and is arguably the most desirable Rover 75. Some 300Nm of torque and the possibility of fuel stops 1000km apart make for compelling reasons to buy.
