Super TestCar reviews - Renault - Scenic - RX4 ExpressionRenault modelsSuspension26 Jul 2001 RX4's front suspension is still of the MacPherson strut and lower wishbone type, though upgraded for off-road work. The lower wishbones are cast iron, the struts have been strengthened and a heavier-duty anti-roll bar added. Spring rates and damper settings were also modified for the greater work ethic. The independent rear suspension is unique to RX4, with the Scenic's four-bar design replaced by trailing arms, springs and dampers. These components are mounted on a detachable galvanised subframe that also carries the 4WD transmission components (viscous coupling, rear final drive and the driveshafts). Suspension travel has increased and ground clearance raised to a height of 210mm. Did you know? The exhaust system was modified to free the path for the 4WD transmissionAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
