Super TestCar reviews - Renault - Megane - Coupe-CabrioletRenault modelsOverviewRenault Australia lifts the lid on its stylish Megane Coupe-Cabriolet21 Oct 2004 RENAULT Australia has continued its rollout of the Megane II range with the most convincing bodystyle to appear so far, the stylish and clever new Coupe-Cabriolet. On sale from November, it replaces the original Megane cabriolet that was part of Renault's relaunch range here in 2001, but introduces a larger, stiffer body with a folding steel roof. Of course, all the Renault hallmarks are included, such as a high level of standard equipement and safety features, but Megane CC also offers something its Astra convertible and 307 CC rivals do not: the first standard folding glass roof. Scoring points for being about $10,000 less than its nearest competitor at $41,985 for the Expression and $46,490 for the Privilege version added in June 2003, Megane cabrio was powered by a 79kW/148Nm 1.6. Good looks, reasonable dynamics and generous standard equipment set the tone for its coupe-convertible successor. |
