Super TestCar reviews - Nissan - Micra - Super S 3-dr hatchNissan modelsUsed Rivals20 Jun 2003 FORD FESTIVA 3D HATCHBACK (1994-1996) THOUSANDS of buyers can be wrong. While plenty of Ford dealers, a roomy cabin and a stylish dash are strong points, lacklustre performance, dreary dynamics and a cheap, tinny feel detract. HYUNDAI EXCEL 3D HATCHBACK (1991-1998) DESPITE the roomy cabin, big boot and powerful 1.5-litre engine, the Excel is hard to recommend. Handling and ride are average, quality and gearchange are poor and its souring reputation affects resale value. TOYOTA STARLET 3D HATCHBACK (1996-1999) THIS trusty Toyota is a well made, zippy, economical and refined runabout. Many come with air-conditioning and power steering as standard. Dull styling and drab interior will not excite enthusiasts. A safe, sound buy. SEAT IBIZA 3D HATCHBACK (1995-1997) THE handsome, roomy body features a classy dash, good equipment levels - airbags and central locking on later models - great seats and a solid feel. Excellent steering, handling and roadholding abilities are not exploited by the puny 1.4-litre engine.
