Road TestCar reviews - Mercedes-Benz - B-Class - B200 5-dr hatchMercedes-Benz modelsOverviewJust how comfortably does the Benz B200 fit between A-class hatch and C-class sedan?3 Feb 2006 By CHRIS HARRIS WHY would Mercedes-Benz slot an all-new model into the gap between the A-class and the C-class? Surely there’s a big risk of cannibalisation here. Not a problem really, says Mercedes, because all three models address different customer needs. Low-cost practicality in the A-class, an introduction to life beyond $50,000 in a regular sedan with C-class. The B-class ends up being a practical Benz that is more spacious and more refined than the A-class, yet not as pleasing to the drive as a C-class. Benz tries to steer your thoughts away from the functionality of the B-class by describing it as a "compact sports tourer", but it’s not likely – even though it steers and handles very well - many buyers will share that view.
