It was also the names of a series of Maserati coupes from the 1960s and ‘90s, but now the badge adorns the Italian supercar maker’s tilt at the successful Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. Based on the rear-drive Quattroporte, it features a number of engine choices among a host of individualisation options, to give the least expensive car in the marque’s history a fighting chance against some very capable competitors.
