Derived from the same Mitsubishi GS-developed platform that underpins a variety of models including the Lancer, Outlander and Dodge Journey, the part-time AWD Patriot came in a single four-door wagon body shape, in Sport or Limited guises. The base engine was the 125kW/220Nm 2.4-litre DOHC four-cylinder petrol unit married to either a five-speed manual or six-speed CVT auto, while the VW-supplied 2.0-litre four-pot turbo-diesel providing 103kW and 310Nm relied solely on a six-speed manual gearbox. |
